Lateral malleolar

• Weber A – distal to mortis joint – non-operative
• Weber B – starts at mortis and usually spirals proximally – may be operative
• Weber C – proximal to mortis – almost always operative

Medial malleolar

• If the ankle mortis is displaced likely needs ORIF
• High risk for proximal fibular fracture (Maisonneuve)
